Built from MDF, braced and sealed
We build with MDF (medium-density fiberboard) because it’s dense, consistent and acoustically dead, so the box doesn’t add its own resonance. Joints are glued and screwed, larger panels are braced, and every seam is sealed so the enclosure is airtight. Baffles are cut precisely, and we double them up where a large sub needs extra support.
Budget prefab boxes often use thin walls and staples that flex and leak air. That wasted energy is bass you paid for and never hear.
Heat matters here, too. We use high-temperature adhesive for carpet and trim, so the finish doesn’t sag or peel when your trunk bakes in a Phoenix July.
Box volume and port tuning, done by the numbers
Every subwoofer has a recommended box volume. We calculate net internal volume after subtracting the space taken up by the sub, the port and any bracing, so the enclosure matches the specs instead of just looking right.
For ported boxes, port area and length set the tuning frequency. A daily driver usually sounds great tuned in the low-to-mid 30 Hz range, while louder competition-style builds often tune higher. We pick the tuning based on what you listen to and how loud you like it.
We also plan where the box sits. Firing the sub toward the rear, the side or up into the cabin changes how it sounds in each vehicle, and we choose the direction that works in yours.

Stealth or showpiece
Some drivers want deep bass without giving up cargo space. We build stealth enclosures for spare-tire wells, side-panel pockets and the space behind a truck’s rear seat, often invisible once the factory panels go back on. In trucks, we build around seat brackets, jack storage and wiring, so the rear seat still folds and the factory tools stay within reach.
Others want the system to be the centerpiece. We can build enclosures that show off the subs and amplifier, with clean lines and a finish that fits the vehicle.

We wrap enclosures in durable automotive carpet that suits your interior, with clean corners and trimmed edges. Terminal cups and wiring are placed where they’re easy to reach but protected from cargo.
Every box is secured to the vehicle with brackets or straps, so it stays put over rough roads and sudden stops. A loose enclosure rattles, shifts and can become a hazard in a crash.
